Level 1 – Introduction to Airtightness Fundamentals

Level 1 is targeted at witnessing authorities, testing and commissioning companies, and consultants. Learn about the behavior of air within a building and the effects it will have on energy efficiency. Understand the different testing circumstances that are acceptable and get the understanding of which factors influence a test. Also, there is a section for witnessing authorities to help understand what to look for during an airtightness or blowerdoor test to be able to judge on the quality of a test.

  • Fundamentals of the blowerdoor
  • Rules and regulations: global and local
  • Ventilation system and relationship with airtightness
  • Witnessing an airtightness test

Level 2 – Basic Airtightness Testing

Level 2 is targeted at testers. This course will teach technicians about door fan test equipment, including basic theory and operation, and give them the foundation to run a single fan airtightness test in accordance with ASTM, LEED, ISO, EN, ATTMA, (Estidama, Green Building regulations, IBC) etc. Technicians will become familiar with the use of the equipment as well as with Retrotec’s FanTestic Pro software. Furthermore technicians will learn about the differences in test procedures of different standards.

  • Pressure gauge training
  • Door fan equipment training
